Full Cheek Snaffle Bits

Here at Online for Equine we have an extensive range of horse bits, coming in a number of different types. Our full cheek bit collection consists of fulmers, handing cheek snaffle bits and eggbutt snaffle bits.

What is a full cheek bit?

A full cheek snaffle bit, like the loose ring snaffle, is a non-leverage bit. However, rather than sliding through the mouthpiece the full cheek bit is fixed in position.

A full cheek bit will have longer extended arms or spokes below and above the central mouthpiece on either side of the horse's lips with a ring attached.

Full cheek bits are often chosen for horse's that are unsure about independently taking the contact forward and down as the fixed cheek offers some stability, however riders should be aware that horses ridden in fixed cheeks can occasionally begin to lean. Should your horse start leaning on the bit, it may be time to consider a loose ring snaffle.

We like to make sure that we offer our customers the very best full cheek bits in the equestrian world today, the cheek bits we offer come from some of the biggest names, including: Neue Schule, Sprenger and Shires. If you would like to know more about bits, please feel free to contact us and speak to our bitting expert.
