Bacteria associated with conditions such as E. coli scours and joint ill can enter a newborn animal through the umbilical cord shortly after birth. Applying a clamp as soon as possible after delivery helps secure the cord and supports good newborn hygiene practices.

Each clamp measures 65mm in length and is easy to apply. Position the clamp approximately 5mm from the top of the umbilical cord, then cut the cord below the clamp to help prevent suckling. Remove after 24 to 48 hours, disinfect and reuse if required, or leave the clamp in place to fall off naturally.
