The Myler Loose Ring Comfort Snaffle 04 with Low Port is a Level Two bit in the Myler bitting system.
The 04 ported mouthpiece provides an excellent transition from a Level One Myler bit. The ¼" port introduces tongue relief. This Myler Comfort Snaffle is suitable for a wide range of horses:
green horses experienced horses entering the Myler systemhorses that have been ridden exclusively in a single-jointed mouthpiecefor re-schooling horsesThe Myler Loose Ring Comfort Snaffle features the "04" mouthpiece - this mouthpiece rotates on the tongue to apply tongue pressure, but it has a slight port (¼") which allows the horse to swallow once he is moving forwards, relaxed which introduces some tongue relief for the horse. The bars of the bit are curved so the bit wraps the bars and the lips of the horse's mouth instead of pinching them when it rotates onto the tongue. This curve makes more room for the horse's tongue under the bit. The centre barrel is the same width as the centre piece on a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, so it will apply approximately the same amount of pressure on the tongue. The centre barrel distributes pressure more kindly than the traditional centrepiece however, and creates independent side movement.Available in 5", 5.5" and 6"
