Exercise bandages and dressage wraps offer your horse’s legs protection and support while being worked. They should start just below the knee and extend down to protect the pastern joint, with each turn being even in pressure and over-lap to avoid any pressure points or restriction. Using wraps beneath the bandages is advised to help with distributing pressure. If you have never bandaged before then it’s important to be shown by someone competent, as it’s easy to cause damage if bandaging incorrectly.
Wraps are more quickly and easily applied than bandages, while still offering high levels of protection and support. Like bandages, they should fit from just below the knee and extend down to cover the pastern joint, but should be flexible and not cause any restriction to the horse’s movement.
Shop bandages and wraps from your favourite brands such as Le Mieux, Woof Wear, Equilibrium and Shires, and find matching saddle pads and fly hoods too!
