Travelling horses comes with some level of risk of injury, much of which can be prevented by using protective travel equipment.
Each horse is different, but we would recommend using padded travel boots to help to protect your horse’s legs and hooves from injury in the event of knocks or kicks and gives added protection should the horse stand on himself. A tail guard is useful for horses that may lean, using their hindquarters against the horsebox for balance and rubbing their tail as a result. Use poll guards on taller horses or those who stress in transit to protect the sensitive poll area from injury.
