Half Pads, Risers and Gel Pads

When it comes to saddle pads there are many different types to consider, on this page you will find a number of different types which are not as commonly used, but still extremely good.

Gel pads for horses are a fairly popular item, the gel pad stops the saddle from moving side to side or up or down the horse's back. They can be used directly on the horse's back or can be used under the saddle to create a soft cushion that helps in absorbing impact. Half pads are used for additional padding under the saddle, often made from a sheepskin or other softer material. Riser pads are special pads in which the rear side is raised higher up than the front side. This is the case as they are primarily used under saddles which do not fit perfectly on the back of the horse.
