The Sprenger KK Ultra Universal is the ideal choice for strong, jumping horses allowing for enhanced communication whilst improving control; this bit is extremely popular in the jumping ring and cross country for improving directional control. The lever action of the Universal has a slight delay due to the lateral offset position of the upper ring making it milder in action than the 3-Ring Gag.

The Sprenger KK Ultra Universal provides both poll and elevating action; this bit features a central lozenge also known as a bean. This central lozenge is set at 45 degrees forward which means that it sits comfortably and evenly on the tongue. As the bean sits evenly on the centre of the tongue, once contact is taken up, the bean takes advantage of the sensitivity of the tongue and applies pressure allowing for enhanced communication. The unique design prevents upper palate interference and ensures that the tongue does not become pinched or squeezed. Unlike a traditional bubble bit or continental gag, the Universal offers lesser poll pressure due to the shorter length cheek of the bit. The Universal can be ridden with multiple rein configurations (please see the imagery) for increased control and action. If the rein is attached to the lower ring, the action is stronger; a curb strap can also be employed for a more direct action on the mouth which is often preferable for cross country riders.

The Sprenger KK Ultra lozenge takes advantage of the sensitivity of the tongue ensuring there is no risk of pinching. The mouthpiece is anatomically to follow the contours of the horses tongue and is designed to help promote consistency and rein aid clarity. Combined with the universal cheek, this bit ensures that the feel in the mouth remains soft whilst providing the rider with increased pressure and directional control making it ideal for stronger horses.

Available in Sensogan in a 16mm or 18mm thickness.

Sensogan – the new and improved version of Aurigan made from copper, zinc and manganese. Sensogan utilises the favourable taste and salivation levels provided by Aurgian but builds on these for improved feel and acceptance. Sensogan is a revolutionary new material designed for maximum comfort and relaxation. The main difference offered by Sensogan is due to the unique combination of copper and manganese which results in a smoother and far more regulated oxidative process which has proven very appealing to the horse in field tests; particularly if you have a horse who over-plays with the bit. This revolutionary compound has resulted in less copper discharge helping the bit retain its white-gold colouration for longer. The huge success of Sensogan is also due to its manganese content; this micro nutrient is extremely popular in the feeding regime of sports horses as tests have concluded that manganese aids in muscle and energy metabolism. Furthermore, feeding manganese has resulted in a reduction in tension in horses and we are finding that tense horses are far more relaxed in the mouth when ridden in Sensogan.

This bit is not dressage legal.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

We want to be crystal clear when it comes to managing your expectations; our website is stock managed to show you what items are available for same day dispatch and those which are externally warehoused and therefore, will take a little longer to arrive with you.

Simply make your product selections and a message will pop up telling you how long it will take us to dispatch your order; we call this our product availability message.  If you are happy with the product availability message on the item, checkout your order and we will ship your order in the timeframe stated.

If you have lots of items in your basket, please use the longest product availability message to work out when your order will arrive.  We care about our environmental impact, so we don't split ship orders unless you get in touch to request that we do so.  We will let you know on your order confirmation when we expect your order will arrive with you.

Whilst we do our best to meet the handling times stated in the product availability message, occasionally we can experience some delays in the delivery network.  At these times, a team member will email you to keep you updated on the progress of your order.

Selecting FedEx or DPD does not change our expected handling times; the service selected is always from the point of despatch not purchase.

If you do require an order urgently, please contact us before ordering to ensure we can accommodate your requirements as we hate to be party poopers!

Which couriers do you use?

Before choosing a courier, please make sure you are happy with the product availability message as these handling times apply before we ship your order.  If it doesn’t show “Express warehouse: immediate despatch”, it will not leave us on the same day you have placed the order.

We use FedEx, DPD and Royal Mail for most of our deliveries.  Some large items may come with other trusted 3rd party couriers.

Our Royal Mail economy service is usually delivered in two - three days.  You will receive a text message and an email confirming the day of delivery; Royal Mail provide a four hour time window for delivery.

FedEx and DPD are delivered next working day from point of despatch for UK mainland addresses or in two working days for Scottish Highlands, Islands, Northern Ireland, and Irish addresses.  You will receive a text message and an email confirming the day for delivery.

Selecting FedEx or DPD does not mean your order will bypass our handling times; FedEx and DPD are from the point of despatch, not the point of purchase.

If an item has an "Oversized goods must select FedEx" overlay on it, please ensure you select FedEx as your delivery option to avoid any delays with your order.
