The Neue Schule Waterford Pelham is designed to give the rider more control during faster work, especially for strong horses that fix or lean such as show cobs or draught types. The Waterford mouthpiece can move in all directions which prevents the horse from becoming "wooden" against your contact, while the Pelham helps by applying poll pressure, encouraging the horse to soften and work in self-carriage. This Pelham gives the desired level of control, encourages freedom through the shoulder and helps to soften the neck to promote correct outline, flexion and bend.
Neue Schule's slimmer, innovative Waterford mouthpiece suits all types of mouth conformation including large fleshy tongues and lips. The ergonomic LipSMART shelf eradicated the risk of rubs to the sensitive corners of the horse's mouth.
Unlike regular Waterford bits, Neue Schule have redesigned this pelham bit with lip rests to eradicate rubbing to the sensitive corners of the lips. As the 14mm mouthpiece bends in all directions, it prevents leaning and ensures the horse carries himself throughout the show ring.
