  1. Veredus TRS Save The Sheep Front Turnout Boots
    £95.00

Veredus TRS Save The Sheep Front Turnout Boots are designed to offer complete protection to horse's limbs in order to prevent injuries during everyday use. The outer shell is durable yet flexible, ensuring complete flexibility and freedom of movement. These boots guarantee maximum comfort without rubbing and secure positioning on the horse's legs.

Save the Sheep is the new line in techno sheepskin, and is 100% cruelty free. The lining of these Carbon Gel Vento boots is entirely man-made fabric which is completely free from any animal derivatives. It has many advantages when compared to real lambskin: it can be washed easily and dries quickly, whereas real lambskin requires considerable and lengthly maintenance; trapped sand and arena surface comes out of the loose, soft, wide knit more easily which minimises the risk of abrasions to the leg; it gives a more cosy and comfortable fit than lambskin; and it also stays looking good for longer - real lambskin tends to dry out, becomes stiff and turn yellow.

Available in Black or Brown; Medium or Large

These Woof Wear turnout boots are designed with a waterproof and breathable fabric around the cannon bone to prevent the leg from overheating. The close fitting Submarine Hoof Capsule fits deep beneath the hoof to prevent mud ingress. Kevlar reinforcement ensures full protection of the heel area. A shaped PU strike pad also gives protection against brushing injuries for your horses legs.

These boots are suitable for both the front and the hind legs.

    Machine washable at 30°C.

Available in sizes Small - X Large. Please see the fitting guide for more information.

    Fitting Instructions:

    1) Open the boot completely

    2) Put the boot around the leg and do up the top strap securely, ensuring the verticle hook and loop section is located down the front of the leg.

    3) Adjust the neoprene around the hoof to ensure the bulbs of the heels are completely covered. Pull tightly and overlap the hook and loop on the neoprene. When satisfied with the fit, smooth over the top securing straps. Then close the hook and loop strip down the front of the cannon bone.

    4) Lastly, adjust the middle strap so that the material is gathered neatly but not tight against the leg. The purpose of this strap is to hold the excess material close to the leg, it is not a support strap for the boot.

Turnout Boots & Mud Fever Boots

Offering horses the correct protection while turned out in the field is essential, particularly if your horse is prone to field injuries or mud fever. Our selection of turnout boots and mud fever chaps will ensure that your horse’s legs are correctly cared for throughout the year as well as being safe for day-long use. Turnout boots also help to keep horse's legs clean and dry - a great time saver when daylight hours are short in the winter!

There are a wide range of turnout boots on the market offering protection to horse’s legs for those that treat their paddock like a playground. Turnout boots need to be contoured to correctly fit the leg, easily but securely fastened to avoid them slipping and tough enough to endure daily wear and tear while preventing knocks and scrapes. Breathable turnout boots are a must – it’s important for the horse’s legs to stay cool while wearing turnout boots. The material of the boots should be strong and durable but not water absorbing – boots that absorb water will become heavy and more likely to rub the legs as well as weakening the skin beneath.

Through the winter months many horses can suffer from mud fever, particularly horses with white legs, photosensitivity or a low immune system. Using turnout boots, mud socks or mud fever chaps that extend down to cover the pasterns and heels will highly reduce the risks of the horse developing mud fever and soreness.

Read our blog about preventing mud fever here.

Turnout boots can also be used to offer support and warmth for horses that are older or arthritic, helping to ease any stiffness.

At Online For Equine we stock a great selection of turnout boots and mud fever chaps from Shires, Equilibrium, Le Mieux and Woof Wear, all at competitive prices.
