Horses’ joints are subjected to immense stress and strain, particularly during competition and training, leading to wear and tear. Joint problems, especially wear and tear of the cartilage (which covers the articular surfaces of bones within the joint) is one of the most common causes of reduced performance and ultimately lameness in performance horses. This isn’t just a problem of performance horses though, with horses living longer than ever, these joints can also have significant wear and tear due to a lifetime of use!
As the horse ages, or the daily impact of training and competition increase, the ability of the underlying bone and synovial fluid to provide vital nutrients and key chondroprotective compounds may not be enough to maintain joint health resulting in a loss of performance. So it is important that high-performance and older horses receive a dietary supply of these key nutrients to support joint health, to ensure the cartilage and joint fluid retain their elasticity and shock-absorbing properties to help maintain peak performance and comfort.
A complementary feed for horses and ponies, designed to support and maintain healthy joints and comfort, as part of a balanced diet.
Easy to feed in a highly palatable cherry flavoured powder.
Key Ingredients
Glucosamine - is one of the key compounds in supporting joint health, and has 3 important roles:
To stimulate the production of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), which help to produce the strong, elastic, shock-absorbing properties of the collagen matrix in the cartilage.
To help reduce the degradation of cartilage.
Antioxidant properties and helps support the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes.
N-Acetyl D Glucosamine - provides an additional source of glucosamine that is particularly important in supporting the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes.
Chondroitin Sulphate - is a key compound in maintaining the structure, elasticity and shock-absorbing properties of cartilage, partly through its water-retaining properties.
Boswellia - the new Kentucky Advanced Joint Powder (formerly known as Kentucky Super Strength Joint Powder), the level of Boswellia has increased to 5000mg per 35g serve from 1700mg. The Boswellic Acids, in particular, AKBA (Acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid) have been shown to support the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes, helping to maintain performance levels. Boswellia also provides antioxidants and other important phytochemicals to support joint health and comfort.
MSM - provides support for the horses own anti-inflammatory processes. It also provides a bio-available source of sulphur to support the bonds in the structural matrix of the cartilage, and the tendons and ligaments.
Hyaluronic Acid - high molecular weight HA helps to maintain the viscosity and elastic shock-absorbing properties of joint fluid and is increasingly recognized as playing a vital role in joint health.
Vitamin C - plays a key role in the production of collagen, which provides the structural framework for the important shock-absorbing properties of cartilage, as well as supporting connective tissue (e.g. ligaments and tendons).
Manganese, Copper and Zinc Glycinates - are a bioavailable source of key trace mineral which plays a key role in many enzymes systems involved in joint health.
Manganese, Copper and Zinc Glycinates - are a bioavailable source of key trace mineral which plays a key role in many enzymes systems involved in joint health.
Rosemary – a natural antioxidant.
Black Pepper - provides a source of piperine, which is thought to help the absorption of these key ingredients to support joint health.
Kentucky Advanced Joint Powder contains optimum levels of these key ingredients to provide essential nutritional support for cartilage and to help maintain healthy joint fluid to lubricate and nourish the joint, helping to promote the health and vital shock-absorbing properties in hard-working joints.
Kentucky Advanced Joint Powder will also help support the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes to help maintain joint and muscle comfort in high-performance horses.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?
We want to be crystal clear when it comes to managing your expectations; our website is stock managed to show you what items are available for same day dispatch and those which are externally warehoused and therefore, will take a little longer to arrive with you.
Simply make your product selections and a message will pop up telling you how long it will take us to dispatch your order; we call this our product availability message. If you are happy with the product availability message on the item, checkout your order and we will ship your order in the timeframe stated.
If you have lots of items in your basket, please use the longest product availability message to work out when your order will arrive. We care about our environmental impact, so we don't split ship orders unless you get in touch to request that we do so. We will let you know on your order confirmation when we expect your order will arrive with you.
Whilst we do our best to meet the handling times stated in the product availability message, occasionally we can experience some delays in the delivery network. At these times, a team member will email you to keep you updated on the progress of your order.
Selecting FedEx or DPD does not change our expected handling times; the service selected is always from the point of despatch not purchase.
If you do require an order urgently, please contact us before ordering to ensure we can accommodate your requirements as we hate to be party poopers!
