Details

The Dever slotted Kimblewick bit with ported mouthpiece is the perfect horse bit for use in riders that require more control than that generated from a regular snaffle. Also known as a Kimblerwick, this horse bit is often selected for horses that need a little more than a snaffle but not quite enough to warrant a Pelham horse bit. The lower that the rein is fitted to the cheek, the greater the poll action of this bit.

The clever design of the bit offers a slight curb action when a light rein aid does not achieve the correct response. The D-rings at either side of the Dever Kimblewick bit add leverage action as the curved bit shank applies pressure to the mouth and chin groove when a contact is taken upon the rein. The intelligent design of the Dever Kimblewick bit increases poll pressure, further improving the control the rider has over the horse.

The ported mouthpiece of this Kimblewick is well suited to horses that have larger oral anatomy such as horses with fleshy tongues. We are finding these horse bits are becoming popular for use in Irish Draughts.

The Dever Kimblewick horse bit is made of a stainless steel that is rustproof and has fantastic longevity! It is also supplied complete with a curb chain and is available in a variety of widths.
